The Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK) was implemented in 2002 in order to give ALL of Florida's 4-year-olds access to a quality prekindergarten experience.

The VPK program is FREE to families and does not have any income requirements or restrictions. Children may participate in the VPK program only once. Registration requires families to supply proof of their Florida residency and proof of the enrolling child’s age.

In order to secure your child's space in our VPK classroom, please turn in your Child's Enrollment Eligibility Certificate. Please visit the Early Coalition's website to register your child.

The Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK) is designed to prepare Florida’s children for kindergarten and develop the skills they need to become good readers and successful students.

At St. Joseph's Child Care Center, the curriculum for our Pre-K/VPK classroom is based on age appropriate activities that encouragechildren to use their cognitive reasoning and creation expression skills as they engage in the learning process. We incorporate skill building and character development with school readiness preparation while encouraging teamwork and development of problem solving skills on a daily basis. We work with the children in small groups or on an individual basis providing more personalized attention whenever possible.
